1. Drawing

This tutorial is about drawing such tips in general. It shows how I constructed this drawing step by step.
2. Thumbnail Everything

The best thing to do to get a good drawing is to sketch out thumbnails. Do several of them in order to get a good idea of where you are going with the picture. Remember put a box around each thumbnail in order to get an idea of the composition. Just remember composition can make or break a picture. Imagine taking a rectangle around each picture to give you an idea of how the composition will look
3. Blocking the Character

The best way to get a good handle on drawing is to begin basic, start with just drawing shapes, tubes for the arms and legs and blocks for the head and chest. Also use reference. Muscle magazines, Playboy and any other magazine with photos in it is a great source of reference. I use a mechanical pencil with a hard lead
4. Accessories make the man

After the character is blocked in, I then begin blocking in all of the accessories. I have added a beard and shoulder pads some armor , I also begin drawing in the skeleton a bit more. Its best not to fill in the drawing too much because it just means more erasing if you the accessories don’t quite fit or something looks wrong. don’t have the drawing the way you want it.
5. A bit of Detail

I then add an outline to some of my drawing, fill in a bit of the blanks if you will. Creating the character is the fun part of it. As your picture takes shape you want to be aware of what kind of mood you want to set the picture in. I am thinking about adding a moonlit graveyard in the background.
6. A Bit of Shading

Next with my hard lead pencil I add a bit of shading. It helps define my character and give me an idea of what kind of textures I want in the large areas. I also begin putting the over all shades in
7. Darkening Up

I am using a softer lead pencil to darken the shades and bring out the highlights. This causes a much brilliant definition of shades, midtones and highlights.
8. Adding the Background

I then add the background in the same manner. I know I should have begun it when I started the drawing, but it was better for the tutorial so that you could see step by step.
